MAJOR REPAIR OF A RESIDENTIAL BUILDING ON KOTELINSKAYA EMBANKMENT

The residential building on Kotelnicheskaya Embankment is one of seven world-famous Moscow high-rise buildings and is rightfully considered a symbol of Moscow. It was built in 1948–1952 according to the design of architects D.N. Chechulin and A.K. Rostkovsky. Officially, the residential building is a cultural heritage site of regional significance. But for residents and guests of the city, its appearance and silhouette, reflected in the waves of the Moscow River, have a special meaning and value. Therefore, the condition of the facades and load-bearing structures of the building is under constant monitoring and is periodically subject to inspection and major repairs.
A particular difficulty in carrying out the work is related to the height parameters of the building. The right wing, facing Kotelnicheskaya Embankment, is only 9 floors high, but the central part reaches 176 meters and 32 floors.
When designing and carrying out renovation work on facades, solutions are laid down and technologies and materials are used that most accurately correspond to the historical ones.
